Beetle Card

I love the beetle stamp in this set. As soon as I’d bought it there was a tutorial in Craft Stamper (magazine). Lucky eh? The tutorial looked really good and reasonably easy to follow so I thought I could give it a go.

The beetle was stamped onto black paper with a three colour metallic ink pad, the wings were stamped out a again separately then both were cut out.
The smaller parts were glued onto the main body with glossy accents which were also used on the body.

I liked the shape and shine the glossy accents gave but you can’t really see this in the photo (note to self: learn to take better photo’s).

I’m still getting to know whitch inks and papers go together best. The metallic ones seem to show much better on darker card and paper. This seems to be the case for me anyway.
The background was made using distress inks, Kanban Time set and a crackle stamp.

Stamps used:
Steampunkery – Chocolate Baroque
Crackle Stamp. – Indigoblu
Kanban – Time
Inks Used:
Distress Ink – Vintage Photo, Fired Brick
Brilliance – Metallic
