Two Simple Cards

C Tree

Hi there. hope you all had a very hapy holliday, filled with lots of love and fun.

As usual I made cards right up to the wire. One year I’m going to get everything finished early but not this year. Hay ho, try again next time.

These are some I made tast minute. They were not too difficult (which is good given the time if year right?). The base of both cards is Centura Pearl cardstock, it has a slight silver sheen to it, not that you can tell by the picture.

The first has been embossed twice with an embossing folder to make a break in the bottom for the Merry Christmas.

Fine is ribbon used to add some decoration, frame the sentiment and to hide the ends of the embossing. The sentiment is heat embossed in silver powder.

The tree on it’s own is lovely and very delicate but I really wanted something a little more substantial for this card. It was made by first embossing the die into some thin white card and cutting the shape out by hand. Silver card was then cut with the same die and glued it in place on top of the white shape along with some of the small silver curls and swirls that fell out.

The little snowy layers puff up through the silver tree mixed in with shiny silver layers. A few small gems dotted around and its done.

The second card base is very similar to the first one.
This time I left the end of the folder hanging outside of the cutting pads so they did not receive any pressure from the BigShot rollers. It worked, although there was some slight fading at the end. A strip of fine ribbon decorates the faded ends. A heat embossed Merry Christmas across runs the bottom, This time stamped in black.

I used a snowflake embossing folder and stamp combo on some scrap paper, it’s just printer paper nothing special. The snowflakes were stamped in blue, embossed with the folder and then blended over with pink and lilac Distress Ink. You can’t see in the picture but next I went around all of the edges with a fine glitter pen, (it is actually quite sparkly).

I cut out circles and placed then in the centre of a silver die cut shape. And glued few small pearls around the edges to finish it off.

That’s my cards done for another year. These two cards were really easy to batch make. Simple but effective.

Have fun, till next time xx
