Prevost’s Squirrels

Prevost’s Squirrels

A watercolour sketch of Prevost’s Squirrels drawn from some photos I’d taken at the zoo.

Hi there, how are you?

Recently we want to the zoo. We don’t have passes any more but our zoo is very generous and lets us see just a few animals without even having to pay! Elephants, warthogs, a couple of species of birds and squirrels, all there to see any time the zoo is open.

These aren’t the usual gray squirrels we have in the local woods though, they are Prevost’s squirrels. They’re lovely colours of blue and orange and white, very beautiful.

A while ago they had babies and now they are all old enough to scamper around the enclosure with the adults.

It’s nice to see them chasing around after each other and basking in the sun.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Till next time, have fun x
